Spoken comment // about 1 minuteGood morning, Commissioners. My name is [NAME], and I live in [TOWN], Colorado. I’ve hunted and fished here for [X] years. I’m speaking on [AGENDA ITEM]. I ask you to [SUPPORT / OPPOSE / AMEND] it because [ONE SPECIFIC REASON, like how it affects access, season dates or herd numbers in your unit]. Hunting and fishing license sales pay for a big share of CPW’s wildlife work, and hunters and anglers want to keep it that way. Thank you for your time and your service.
Written comment // Engage CPW or emailSubject: Comment on [AGENDA ITEM], [MEETING DATE] Commission meeting Dear Commissioners, I am a [hunter / angler / landowner / license buyer] from [TOWN], Colorado. I am writing about [AGENDA ITEM]. I [support / oppose] this proposal because [SPECIFIC REASON]. In my experience in [GAME MANAGEMENT UNIT / WATER / AREA], [WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN]. I ask the Commission to keep decisions grounded in CPW’s own biological data, to protect public access, and to keep regulated hunting and fishing as core tools of wildlife management. License dollars from people like me fund that work, and I want it to stay strong. Thank you for considering my comment. [NAME] [TOWN, ZIP]

5. Vote

Amendment 83: the right to hunt and fish

Amendment 83 is on the Nov 3, 2026 ballot. It would add a right to hunt, fish and harvest fish and wildlife by traditional methods to the Colorado Constitution, establish hunting and fishing as the preferred means of managing fish and wildlife populations, and keep the state’s power to regulate for sound science, public safety and future opportunity 2026 BLUE BOOK. As a constitutional amendment, it needs at least 55 percent of the vote to pass 2026 BLUE BOOK. The Blue Book notes that license sales bring in about one-third of CPW’s annual revenue, roughly $115 million 2026 BLUE BOOK.

Pyrost and Salida Gunshop stand with Dan Gates and CRWM in support.
